In some cases the pursuit of independence and the user of our technology start at birth, while in other cases the use of our technology can be the result of injury. In the lives of our soldier’s, injury is part of the danger of their commitment to our country. We are dedicated to developing assistive technology products that can help our active and non-active service men and women move closer and closer to independence.
These assistive technologies can include environmental control systems designed to help allow full access to a person’s home and unlock their universe. Now a user can control everyday items like turning on lights, fans, controlling a telephone, TV remote, computers, activating bed functions, doors, and many other daily living products throughout their home – again, creating independence. Included in assistive technology are voice output devices as one may need to relearn how to communicate again.
With AbleNet’s easy technology AAC products a user can communicate their basic needs while working on developing full communication and engaging interaction during the recovery process.
If traumatic brain injury is a concern, AbleNet has developed content and software solutions intended to work with and improve cognitive development. These have been specially designed to work collaborative with our assistive technology devices to fully engage in the learning.
