Every student can learn math skills.
Every student can succeed.

The first complete, standards-based mathematics curriculum for students of differing-abilities.

Equals is a Pre K-12 curriculum that provides the best in mathematics instruction for educators who work with students in special education or in alternative education programs. It encompasses pre-readiness math skills (attending, cause and effect, etc.), fundamental math skills (numbers and operations, measurement, and estimation), and higher order math skills (data analysis, probability, spatial sense, geometry, algebra, and problem solving). Each lesson provides three levels of instruction for students with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities.

The curriculum provides a multi-sensory structure to math with three levels of instructional strategies dedicated to each lesson. Equals builds math preparedness through incremental and systematic progression from the concrete to the abstract. In addition, Equals pulls together the critical instructional elements of communication and engagement by providing the strategies and manipulatives that enable all students to demonstrate measurable progress on math outcomes.

Key Features:

  • Complete scope and sequence of math skills
  • Lessons range from pre-emerging math to traditionally taught math standards
  • K-12 with age-neutral lessons
  • Comprehensive assessment
  • Real life problem solving (school-home-community math applications)
  • Math manipulatives (specifically for students with disabilities)
  • Hundreds of worksheets at multiple levels of complexity
  • Math posters, workmats, and cards

    Testimonial:
"The Equals program has been going well in my classroom. After finishing the assessment, I realized my students were not as all over the place as I thought. The first lesson I did was a whole group lesson to introduce the program to my team. The staff (myself included) and students loved it! We are becoming more and more familiar with it everyday." Thanks, Jill Dizeo Teacher, NY

Quote From Equals Customer

I love the Equals Math Curriculum! I started using it at the beginning of the school year with two lower level students and have been adding my other students throughout the year. We do quite a bit of it on our SmartBoard and the rest at a table with the tools and manipulatives. The worksheets are also printed and completed with an aide to help reinforce the concepts. It’s great. We also use the AbleNet Weekly Reader in the same way and love it just as much!” -Brook Wisconsin 2011

OH MY GOODNESS Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a lesson with the kids yesterday! I started with chapter 2 lesson 1. I sure like the 3 leveled questions! Makes it so I can do a whole group lesson! Makes my higher kids think 3 different ways too! Stephanie - Indiana

Equals Training: Thank you for the [training] presentation on Monday to many of our special education teachers. They have given enthusiastic feedback on feeling more comfortable to use the program materials.
Kathy - Director Special Education, MN
