AbleNet Showcasing Special Education Curriculum Products and 'Remarkable Ideas' at the Council for Exceptional Children Convention
Equals mathematics curriculum being enthusiastically received as a solution to providing age appropriate math lessons aligned to state standards
St. Paul, MN – April 1, 2010 – AbleNet will showcase several of its most successful special education curriculum products at the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Convention and Expo in Nashville, Tennessee on April 21 – 24th. Products being featured include, in part, summer school, math and reading curriculum for K-12.
"We are gratified that AbleNet curriculum products are being overwhelmingly embraced by special educators throughout the nation," states Ann Meyer, Vice President of Curriculum and Software for AbleNet, Inc. "For example, the Equals K – 12 mathematics curriculum, which was introduced last fall has been the target of many district wide adoptions because it meets the needs of students with disabilities and provides educators with appropriate materials so they are no longer put in the position of creating what they need." The age neutral lessons coupled with materials and instruction specifically developed for students with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities makes this a must have program for K – 12 special education classrooms.
"AbleNet has been privileged to work with numerous remarkable professionals, educators and others doing extraordinary work on behalf of people with disabilities over the past 25 years," said AbleNet CEO Jen Thalhuber. "To celebrate these many accomplishments, AbleNet has launched the 'Remarkable Idea' program to recognize the creativity of these people and tell their remarkable stories so others can learn and be inspired to use these ideas or develop their own innovative uses of these tools."
Submissions of remarkable ideas will be taken throughout the year online at www.ablenetinc.com, where written and/or video submissions are encouraged. The 25 most creative uses of AbleNet assistive technologies and special education tools will be honored and featured on the company website throughout the year.
