In April 2008, we proudly announced the acquisition of Tash International, Inc., a world-class assistive technology solutions company, with a loyal following in the areas of physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation and daily living aids for persons with disabilities.
For more than 20-years, AbleNet focused on designing, developing, and manufacturing assistive technologies for use in special education classrooms primarily in the United States and Canada. To remain competitive in a global economy, we began looking for opportunities that would complement our knowledge of assistive technologies, while allowing us to offer more products, to more people, in more regions across the globe. Tash International was a perfect fit.
Rest assured, the Tash products you know and love will continue to be available, as will the entire line of AbleNet products. In fact, the only change you’ll notice is a greater assortment of switches for activating toys, appliances, and electronics; new augmentative and alternative communication aids; more wheelchair and desktop mounting systems; more environmental control units and more computer access aids.
