Next Transition Skills System

A Complete Program for Organizing, Delivering, and Measuring Transition Skills Development

Everything you need to help students of ALL abilities in special education develop the transition skills they'll need for what ever comes Next™

Next™ Transition Skills System is a district-wide solution that simplifies the process of identifying, teaching, and tracking essential transition skills over multiple years, while meeting state standards and federal guidelines for providing transition education to students with autism spectrum disorders as well as mild, moderate, and severe disabilities.

Next™ is a comprehensive package that includes all the forms, goals, activities, and strategies that special education administrators, transition coordinators, job coaches, and teachers need to build and maintain a quality transition program designed to prepare students for a bright future.

Next™ Transition Skills System is designed to help students acquire the essential skills they'll need to transition to adulthood. But because no two students are alike, Next provides a complete system for identifying and addressing a variety of skills needed to succeed in school, at home, in the community, and in vocational settings.

Next™ provides an uncomplicated, yet structured method for involving all members of a student's IEP team, including parents, in identifying the student's strengths, transition needs, and priorities. Next™ provides tools to involve students in the process of identifying their wants and interests, which motivates them to participate and succeed at a higher level.

Key Features:

  • Provides a consistent structure for transition programming across all disability categories
  • Clearly defines transition skills, goals, and objectives unique to each student's disability needs
  • Identifies student's strengths and accomplishments
  • Provides a collaborative model of transition planning with all IEP team members (including parents, students, and outside agencies)
  • Provides customized evaluations for student progress
  • Documents tangible results over time

Keep staff and students ahead of what's Next™.
Month-after-month. Year-after-year.

Transition education is an ongoing process, and Next is designed to help the IEP team guide each student toward meaningful experiences, jobs, and classes, from assessment, to transition goal planning, to data collection, to reports, preparing students for graduation and beyond

The Next Transition Skills System is a district-wide solution customized to the needs of students with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities, plus an additional view of transition skills specific to students with autism spectrum disorders.

The Next Transition Skills System puts all IEP team members, including parents, on the same page from day one, and provides a solid system for monitoring and tracking student progress over multiple years.

Transition Categories Focus On:

  • Workplace skills and attitudes
  • Responsibility
  • Interacting with others
  • Basic academic skills

  • Computer and technology skills

Assessment

Transition planning begins with the Transition Skills Assessment. A Next Transition Assessment is fully prepared in each of the Next program categories (mild, moderate, severe, and autism). Each assessment is electronically deployed and easily completed by all IEP team members with real time results compiled automatically. The Transition assessment can be further customized to meet the unique needs of each student.

Transition Plan

Once the Assessment survey results are compiled, the team can quickly and efficiently move to Transition planning for the student. The team can easily determine areas of agreement and areas which require further discussion. Next ensures high quality goals and objectives are written for each IEP.

Data Collection

After the Transition goals are identified, the educator uses Next Data Collection to gather and manage the student achievement specific to each Transition goal on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.

Reports

The Next Transition System concludes with the flexible reporting options today's programs and districts require. Student repots are generated via strengths, needs, goals, and objectives. Next Reports track transition progress over multiple years to ensure the student attains the skills he/she needs to make a successful move to whatever comes Next: employment, independence, semi-dependence, or dependent living, and community integration.

In short, the Next Transition Skills System:

  • Fosters the development of a common language between all team members
  • Clearly defines transition skills, goals, and objectives
  • Communicates expectations
  • Teaches appropriate transition skills
  • Evaluates student progress
  • Documents tangible results

Next Transition Skills System is dual platform compatible for your Mac or PC.
