In this highly practical webinar session focusing on Science instructional activities, participants will gain skills in planning and delivering academic content integrated with functional activities to advance the learning outcomes for students with severe cognitive, communication and motor challenges. Through depicting a number of multi-sensory, hands- activities, the session will demonstrate how to address the following Science content area key concepts using high-interest scenarios:

• To gain awareness of plants and the natural world
• To identify plant structure and life cycle process
• To increase science concept knowledge and literacy (vocabulary)
Applying the universal design for learning principles (UDL) framework centered on presentation, student engagement, action, and expression, this webinar session activities will demonstrate how to ensure accessibility, adjust the task complexity level and foster active learner participation. Participants will increase their knowledge of a number of resources and support tools including assistive technology aids to enhance instruction in the Science content area.
