The purpose of this information is to support you as you learn to use common assistive technology tools to support students who have complex disabilities. Our ableU on-demand webinar, Let’s Make Pickles, is an excellent introduction to the basic tools and background information that you will need to be familiar with in order to understand the activities in the units. The webinar is named for one of the favorite units that we did (focused on pickles of course!), where we read about pickles, wrote about pickles, and even made pickles with our students. Every student can do this, and so can you!

We recommend that you watch the webinar first before diving into the activities. In it, we talk through how we collaborate to plan high engagement activities that target critical literacy and life skills, and how we do those activities with students of all abilities
