This course explores the evolving role of high-tech AAC. Participants will learn key benefits of early AAC access, address common misconceptions about AAC, and review essential factors to consider when trialing and selecting an AAC device.

Presenter Biography: Abby Schmidt is a Speech Language Pathologist and Senior Business Development Manager at AbleNet Abby has been an SLP since 2021 and previously worked with individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities at an outpatient clinic. Abby focused on providing access to AAC for clients with autism spectrum disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, and developmental delays.
