In this session, participants learned practical solutions to keep patients motivated and engaged by incorporating movement and preferences into therapy. They reviewed tips for speech and language, including articulation and complex communication needs, and analyzed a case study. Learners identified movement-based activities and patient preference observation strategies to enhance therapy sessions.

Presenter Biography: Ruth is a Speech Language Pathologist with experience in a variety of settings, with the bulk of her expertise in pediatrics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from Northern Illinois University and has worked across the lifespan since graduating in 2015. She enjoys treating individuals of all disorders and has a special interest in the area of AAC, ADD, and Autism. Her passion is to see individuals learn in a way that is respectful of them and their unique style and gifts. She enjoys seeing their personalities shine through.
